[-dʒi], Mushanokōji, Saneatsu, japanischer Schriftsteller, * Tokio 12. 5. 1885, ✝ ebenda 9. 4. 1976; war die Zentralfigur der Gruppe und Zeitschrift »Shirakaba« (»Die Birke«, 1910-23), die im Namen der Humanität für die Selbstentfaltung des Individuums eintrat. Von L. N. Tolstoj beeinflusst, errichtete er 1919 sein »Neues Dorf« in der Präfektur Mijasaki, in dem er seine Ideale zu realisieren versuchte.
 
Werke: (japanisch): Dramen: Seine Schwester (1915; deutsch); Es lebe der Mensch (1922; englisch Three cheers for a man).
 
Roman: Freundschaft (1919; englisch Friendship).
